ASF's Origin

Aurica Search Fund is the dedicated Search Fund arm of Aurica Capital, a premier Private Equity firm based in Barcelona. ​

For more than 20 years, Aurica’s success has been driven by forging strategic partnerships with business owners through minority investments, combining our respective strengths to accelerate growth and unlock value.​

Expanding into the Search Fund space is therefore a natural extension to Aurica. It allows us to target the lower-middle market while maintaining our biggest competitive edge: our ability to partner effectively. Today, we extend this culture of partnership to the search fund ecosystem, complementing the talent and drive of top-tier searchers with financial backing, sector intelligence, and value-creation expertise.

The history behind Aurica Search Fund​

Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit amet libero tempore voluptatem accusantium doloremque.

  • Aurica is born (2000)

    Aurica was born as the Private Equity division of Banco Sabadell. It invested in minority stakes through the bank’s Balance sheet

  • Aurica Capital becomes an Independent Private Equity (2015)

    Banco Sabadell transformed Aurica to an independent Private Equity, raising capital from external investors for the first time

  • MBO from Aurica’s management team (2021)

    The management team decided to purchase Aurica, consequently becoming an independent entity from the bank. Since then, Aurica has grown as a GP through diversifying into different strategies

  • Launch of Aurica Search Fund (2023)

    One of the new strategies was the launch of the Aurica Search Fund, a €50m fund to be invested in Search Funds across Europe and the rest of the world​
